Grammy award-winning Alanis Morissette is back in town and hitting the stage.

Belting some great tunes from the album Jagged Little Pill, the album that had made the Canadian singer's name back in 1995, Morissette happily took to stage and showcased her latest studio album.

Morissette sang most of the opening number from the wings of the stage– leaving her eager fans to peering at a massive mural-type backdrop while listening to "Moratorium", a track taken from her latest studio album, Flavors of Entanglement.

The album replays her losses over the years in her typically frank and sensational way we’ve come to love, but Morissette was no longer the victim that evening. Surrounded by a slick, skinny tie-sporting rock band, she was able to enter into full-on rock chick mode, leaping across the stage and head banging to most tracks.

The changing of classic, loveable vintage songs and unfortunately forgettable new material kept the audience engaged. The track ‘Written’ got some time on the stage and Morissette mentioned that her album chronicles the emotional journey she has been on, from "hitting rock bottom" to "the phoenix rising".

A ton of catchy beats, amazing energy and great electric guitar solos made some of her tracks stand-out. Morrisette was able to keep the tempo up through out the night by blasting her way though "All I Really Want" which effectively acted as a ‘heads – up’ as to why the album Jagged Little Pill will be going down as one of the greatest albums of all time. It still remains a lot brighter and eye catching than her new material.

When Morissette sets off into a beautiful rendition of the haunting "Perfect", there is a hushed silence from the crowd, many of whom where clearly less familiar with her more up to date songs. Some of the more obviously enjoyable tracks where “Tapers", "Eight Easy Steps", and also "Versions", but it had reached the point where it could no longer consistently really get the crowd going.

Saving the best till last,  it was only when Morissette performed the old favorites such as "Hand in My Pocket" that we see the blazing talent that has helped her sell those millions and millions of albums, those years ago and maintain such a loyal fan base.
