James Brown The man who took wet out of sweat - James Brown
Probably more historically famous than the iconic Tower of London itself, James Brown adhered the crowd to expect the unexpected at the Tower Music Festival.

In a mass showdown of amplified music his band of musicians dressed in vibrant red blazers, along side the tassel - styled dresses of the backing singers achieved a surreptitious trawl of overwhelming funk.

Prior to the rapturous entrance of Mr Brown, the band in a mutinous alliance beamingly procures a sexy interlude to the patience of the crowd. As a thundering applause outstrips the venue the ravishingly dapper James Brown dressed in shimmering satin blue (hair intact…as always!) graces the stage in his bold flair. Foot marking the stage - he grasps the mic, spins on his feet and revs the mic.

All eyes on Mr Brown, the fixation conjures an intimate ambience with James screeching, " Does everyone feel good…" and dives into the incredulous 'This Is A Man's World' a mellifluous clasp of the classic track combined with the exuberant pitch of his backing singers. The momentum neither lessens or deteriorates as James adds, "You make me feel so good I wanna scream tonight' and rips in to the track 'I Feel Good'. Two dancers spring out and the slender benders contort with peppiness as the crowd cavorts.

The venerable 'Godfather of Soul', who became known as 'the hardest working man in show business' careened with his cliché antics of body popping, jigs and jives -loosening his bow tie he flings it to the crowd and embarks on a whirl of two-step pleasantries. Such rawness is powered by the ensemble of the band repeatedly chanting 'Rock ya body' as the dancers and James perform sync dance routines.

Throughout the gig there were a few segments with James jumping on the keyboard, leaving his cohorts to excel in their own repertoire. In one set James Brown's soulful acumen is executed as the amorous lyrics 'Try me…'is approached.

Disappointedly there was no encore despite the crowds incessant pleads. However, in retrospect James Brown's finale could not have been more commendable. James' gave little indication, yet a few niggling remarks as to what was to come up next, he chirrups, 'I wanna get up and do my thang' - and there it was! 'Sex Machine'! A melodious outrage exploded with the beats thumping aloud in coordination to the two dancers, who marched on stage triggering a whirlwind display of 'super dynamite soul'.

A presentation full of glee and energy encompassed James Brown, but honestly speaking what wrong can be said about Mr Brown?
