The venue at first appeared to be the reunion of TV show 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!' with bush tucker survivors Mylene Klass, Toby Antis, Jungle King, Matt Willis and runner up, Jason Donovan all amongst the audience, but as the show drew closer the audience had more to quell their starry eyes.

The event described by Jason Donovan as "A very sexy all-star spectacular" began with the salient vocals of Candi Staton. Stomping her feet to 'Young Hearts Run Free' and Candi's biggie, 'You've Got The Love' it was a performance suffice until Russell Thompkins Jr. & The New Stylistics entered the stage.

Drenched out in cerulean blue suits, Russell Thompkins Jr. & The New Stylistics gave a startling glow of concurrent dance grooves and an epic display of falsetto vocals. Heaving the crowd with the tracks, 'Rockin' Roll Baby' and the highly anticipated, 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' certainly wooed the ladies as the crème of all ballads was gracefully introduced by Russell Thompkins Jr as, "This one is dedicated to all the ladies".

With no intermission to intervene the star-studded night was a long haul of pioneering soul, Freda Payne glamorously masked herself in a glittering red dress giving a festive jeer of her UK number one hit, 'Band of Gold'.

William Bell in tinted shades flew across the stage with, 'Private Number' but it was the exhilarating Carl Cartlon that performed a 'split'tastic jive, hitting out to 'She's A Bad Mama Jama' his booty shaking slams and hip winding moves were a refreshing glimpse of what really went down in the disco era.

Taking a softer approach was the soulful Dorothy Moore performing her splendid cut of 'I Believe You'. Slipping out of her shoes and pattering barefooted she left the crowd shimmering for more.

But more was to come, but in the form of soul icon Billy Paul. Donning a top hat and looking extravagantly plush in a grey pin-striped suit, Billy powered the tracks, 'Someones Knockin' At The Door', 'Thanks For Saving My Life' and the divine, 'Mr and Mrs Jones'.

Though the ballads swept the crowd, Deniece Williams uplifted the tone sparkling fans with her ravishing beige two-piece suit. In excelling the stage with her wondrous 'Free' she held the crowd for the ravenous track, 'Let's Hear It For The Boys'. A bouncy vibe that had the throng up on their feet with Deniece promptly adding, "This one is for all the good men".

In uplifting spirits Marva Reeves & The Vandellas were the highlight. Coordinating not only in footwork but in attire too, their black glittering frocks dazzled the hall. With the crowds left in the music guards of Marva Reeves& The Vandellas, bottoms had left their seats as the trio completed a vitalizing set of 'Heatwave', Jimmy Mack', Nowhere To Run and the infamous, 'Dancing In The Street'.

As the night drew to the end acts were still steaming in fast gear. The incandescent Bonnie Tyler mellowed the crowd with, 'A Total Eclipse of the Heart'. However, it took the King of ballads, Peabo Bryson to really set the crowds emotions swaying.

Ending the show on a heart felt exit, 'Beauty and The Beast', 'Tonight I Celebrate My Love' and the crowd pleaser, 'Ain't Nobody, Peabo Bryson kept the atmosphere alight shouting, "Raise the Roof", but with the roof already raised the sky was the only limit!
